Hendrickson highlights trailer air suspension systems to improve uptime and reduce maintenance for fleets
Key takeaways
- Hendrickson air suspensions support uptime and durability across dry van, refrigerated, and specialty trailer fleets.
- Intraax integrates axle, brake, and suspension systems to reduce maintenance and improve tire wear performance.
- Vantraax and Ultraa-K improve trailer strength, weight efficiency, and cargo protection in high-use fleet operations.
Hendrickson recently highlighted its portfolio of trailer air suspension systems, including Ultraa-K, Vantraax, and Intraax, designed to improve uptime, reduce maintenance, and enhance ride quality across trailer applications, including dry van and refrigerated operations, where smooth ride control helps protect cargo.
The company, which develops ride and suspension solutions for the commercial transportation industry, said its integrated systems combine suspension, axle, and braking components to improve durability, efficiency, and long-term asset value.
Intraax is an integrated trailer air suspension system that combines suspension, axle, and brakes into a single engineered package used across platforms, tankers, dumps, and specialty trailers. It features large-diameter axle (LDA) technology and Quik-Align axle adjustment to help manage weight, improve tire wear, and reduce maintenance demands.
Vantraax pairs the Intraax integrated suspension with Hendrickson’s K2 slider box for dry van and refrigerated trailers, using diagonal K-bracing and high-strength main rails to improve structural strength and payload capability. It also includes the Quik-Draw pneumatic pin-pull mechanism to reduce driver effort when repositioning the slider in regional and long-haul operations.
Ultraa-K is a lightweight tandem air slider designed for dry van and refrigerated applications, built with reinforced structure and optimized crossmembers to support repeated loading, docking, and tight maneuvering. It is engineered to reduce weight by up to nearly 100 lb. compared to typical tandem air sliders while maintaining durability.
Across its suspension portfolio, Hendrickson also offers zero-maintenance damping (ZMD) air springs, ready-to-roll (RTR) wheel-end packages, and Tiremaax tire pressure control systems to support performance, uptime, and total cost of ownership.
