International Truck and Engine Corp. and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. have partnered so that Goodyear’s new G395 LHS steer tire is given a special performance guarantee on International 8000 and 9000i Series tractors used in line-haul service.

The Goodyear Steer Tire Challenge promises that the verifiable average removal miles of the tires will exceed that of competitors’, or Goodyear will retread the G395 LHS casing at no charge.

The manufacturing process used to produce the tires employs computerized, automated machinery to contribute to greater tire uniformity. It results in even wear of the tire, improvement of the ride and comfort of the driver, and lowers the owner’s cost-per-mile, the tire manufacturer said.
