Con-Way Transportation Services has added a custom template feature to itsonline electronic bill of lading system, which can be used to set up repetitive shipments.

Shipper, consignee and commodity information will be stored in a bill of lading template for quick retrieval when same or similar shipments repeat themselves. The user can set up as many as 50 templates.

Con-Way added that the new template function will help customers better use the carrier's XML link for electronic bills of lading. The required shipping information is electronically transferred and the bill of lading document is auto-generated and ready for transfer via email to the shipping dock or elsewhere for printing.
