Bridgestone has introduced a new deep-tread steer tire for tractors working in regional, shorthaul and pickup & delivery applications. At 22/32 in., the R260F tire has a 20% deeper tread depth than standard steer radials, according to Bridgestone. That gives this tire better wear characteristics for the high-scrub environment of urban and regional hauling, the company says. It's also a wider tire, so it can be used on drive axles.
The R260F also features the Equalizer Rib structure to help combat irregular tread wear. They are smaller ribs constructed next to the larger tire ribs to help absorb those irregular wear forces, Bridgestone says. The R260F also features thicker ribs along the tire sidewall to stiffen resistance to curbing — a common hazard in P&D applications, the company says. The R260F is available in both standard and low profile sizes, with G and H load ratings for 22.5 and 24.5 in.wheels. www.trucktires.com or circle 293
