Qualcomm Inc. has promoted Norman L. Ellis to vp of business operations for Qualcomm’s Wireless Business Solutions (QWBS). Ellis will have specific responsibility for the private fleet, LTL and leasing markets and will continue working to expand Qualcomm's market share in those segments, according to the company.

"Norman and his team have successfully lead the effort to integrate our products and services with third parties and customer specific solutions for the private fleet, LTL and leasing markets," said George Dunn, vp and gm for QWBS Domestic Operations. "He has been instrumental in helping QWBS sign and deploy key customer fleets, and has provided both vision and direction in the development of high-value wireless data solutions for private fleet and LTL carriers."

Ellis joined Qualcomm in 1998 as director of program and product development for QWBS division. Over the last three years, his role has continued to expand with responsibilities for market growth in the private fleet and LTL markets.
