Career Catalyst Awards return for 2026 to recognize leaders building the next-generation trucking workforce

Applications are open for the Next Generation in Trucking Association’s second annual Career Catalyst Awards. The organization, which focuses on connecting students and early-career professionals to trucking careers, will honor employers and industry partners who support workforce development in trucking, diesel technology, logistics, and the supply chain.

The awards expand from 2025 to recognize both employers and partners that provide structured training, mentorship, and pathways to long-term careers. Applications are open to organizations of all sizes, whether they have formal programs or demonstrate a commitment to developing the next generation workforce. 

There are two award categories this year:

• Industry employer: Recognizes fleets creating entry-level opportunities, structured training programs, education partnerships, work-based learning experiences, and long-term career advancement pathways.
• Industry partner: Recognizes organizations such as dealerships, technology providers, insurance companies, and associations that support hiring, training, internships, apprenticeships, and school collaboration.

“The future of trucking depends on companies willing to engage early and create clear pathways for long-term careers,” Lindsey Trent, president and co-founder of the Next Generation in Trucking Association, said. “The Career Catalyst Awards recognize organizations that are building real solutions—investing in students, developing talent, and strengthening the connection between education and industry.”
