National warranty provider GWC is launching a new medium-duty truck protection plan to gives truck dealerships that have a mix of vehicles on their lots an opportunity to fulfill more customer needs.

“Medium-duty trucks represent a significant growth segment in the industry," said Rob Glander, GWC president & CEO. “We’ve set out to provide a strong protection plan to help dealers meet the needs of this expanding customer base.”

GWC's plan provides mechanical breakdown coverage on trucks with a GVWR of up to 19,500 lbs. The plan’s cost is determined by weight, mileage and fuel type for everything from small dump trucks to vehicles equipped with dry or reefer boxes.

Avoca, PA-based GWC, which has been in the market for 15 years, said it currently provides warranty converge plans to 20,000 franchised and independent car dealerships in 37 states. It’s owned by CIVC Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm with over $1.3 billion under management.
