Jackie Tennant, 62, is a 35-year veteran owner-operator with over four million miles under her belt. Leased to Intel Carriers of DeForest, WI, usually hauling reefer freight out of the Midwest to Texas and Florida, Tennant's been running a Kenworth W900 tractor with an Eaton RTLO 13-spd. manual transmission for the last 15 years. That transmission, she reports, recently surpassed two million miles of repair-free road service.
By way of comparison, during that same decade and a half, Tennant reports she's had her truck's engine overhauled twice, replaced the brakes roughly 15 times, and changed out tires about 23 times. “I've never had to tear it apart once.”
