LAS VEGAS. The Truckload Carriers Assn. (TCA) is partnering with the National Assn. of Independent Truckers (NAIT) for a new affinity program, it announced at its annual convention here this week.

TCA will now promote NIAT membership to independent contractors and owner-operators. Benefits of NAIT include driver insurance, health and wellness programs, business tools and entertainment. NAIT driver insurance is offered through Transguard.

“Our mission at TCA is to create success for the truckload industry and the communities it serves,” said TCA president Chris Burruss. “Independent contractors play a big part in that success, so helping these entrepreneurs secure quality, affordable insurance is not just the right thing to do, it is an opportunity we simply could not pass up.”

TCA will help develop informational materials to promote the joint venture.
