The Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Assn. (OOIDA) has announced that John Siebert, OOIDA Foundation project leader, will host a panel discussion on whether the temperature control of fuel at retail pumps benefits station owners at the expense of fuel buyers.
The panel will be held at a meeting organized by NATSO, a national trade group representing truckstops and travel plazas, in San Antonio on January 30 to February 3.
OOIDA contends that energy consumers in “warmer” states are being penalized since the volume of fuel expands at warmer temperatures and therefore there is less energy per gallon of fuel purchased.
The discussion will also include panelists from the oil industry, OOIDA said.
