ACDelco has announced several improved programs and services to benefit fleet customers, including enhanced sales and service support. The company said it designed the ACDelco Key Fleet program to help qualified fleet customers increase their efficiency and reduce operating expenses while keeping their vehicles properly maintained and on the road.

To qualify as a participant in the ACDelco Key Fleet program, shops must maintain and operate 15 or more vehicles or pieces of motorized equipment, service their fleet vehicle and equipment in-house, and purchase an average of $1,500 or more per month in ACDelco products, on an annual basis.

Key Fleet program participants receive technical service training at no additional charge, access to a technical assistance hotline and the ACDelco TechConnect Web site and newsletter, and discounts on SPX equipment, Vetronix diagnostic equipment and GM service manuals and training materials, among other benefits, according to the company.

“Some of these changes [to ACDelco fleet programs] are aimed at helping our warehouse distributors (WDs) go out and compete more aggressively to sell price-sensitive product lines, which can help them earn more of the fleet business,” noted Steve Dean, manager of fleet & commercial parts sales.

Another program available to fleet customers is the ACDelco Fleet Parts Purchase Program (FPPP). FPPP offers standardized pricing and consolidated billing, plus the opportunity to take advantage of the proximity of a local distributor to deliver parts in a timely fashion. In addition, ACDelco’s WISE (Web Integrated Service Environment) Internet Parts—or WIP—e-business program helps streamline sales transactions for customers. To qualify for FPPP, fleets must meet certain criteria, including servicing their vehicles or equipment within their own facilities and purchasing a minimum of $250,000 annually in parts.

“While FPPP and WIP streamline the ordering and billing process, they also allow local WDs to retain and grow their relationships with their fleet customers. And if a relationship isn’t what the fleet expects it to be, the fleet has the option of choosing another local ACDelco WD to fill its local orders and will receive the same pricing and consolidated billing,” Dean explained.
