Mobile computing systems maker PeopleNet is launching a new website aimed at providing a variety of educational resources to trucking firms so they can manage their operations more efficiently.
The new Internet site offers: case studies about how specific companies use different technologies to automate processes and minimize cost drivers; white papers about current topics impacting the industry, such as safety, dashboards and reporting, technology integration and more; archives of the company’s online educational events; and information about new regulations, such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s comprehensive safety analysis 2010 (CSA 2010) program and electric onboard recorder (EOBR) rules.
“This new site fills a need created by a dearth of impartial educational information on websites of other technology providers for the industry,” said Brian McLaughlin, PeopleNet COO. “A smart market provides greater opportunity for all providers.”
PeopleNet is also extending its focus on education at its 2010 user conference – entitled “Fleet Performance All the Way” – to be held August 9-11 in Boca Raton, FL, which features sessions on compliance with safety, hours of service (HOS) reporting, EOBRs, CSA 2010 regulatory changes, automated workflow, driver management, and more.
