New stopping distance regulations, electrical requirements, and a 300,000-mile assessment of 2007-model year engines are all on the agenda for the 2010 Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition of the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC), to be held at the Tampa Convention Center Feb. 9-12.
Also on the agenda for TMC premier annual event will be full technical sessions on Implementing Kaizen to Improve Profitability and Fostering Effective Fleet/Service Provider Communication.
There will also be ten mini-technical sessions on the following subjects: electrical requirements for on-highway vehicles - 2010 and beyond; what’s wrong with this picture - common mistakes related to tire and wheel maintenance; fleet experiences with EPA 2007 compliant diesel engines - a 300,000-mile assessment; in-cab safety devices and their implications for data retention, liability and legal responsibilities; new stopping distance regulations and the effect on vehicle specifications; installation and repair of trailer aerodynamic devices; sustainability strategies for fleet operations; a comprehensive look at vehicle electronic control systems - present and future; the great antifreeze debate - universal vs. proprietary engine coolants; and energy storage systems for hybrid chassis.
More than 300 exhibitors are expected and Navistar senior vp of North American sales operations Jim Hebe will be the featured speaker at the Tuesday kickoff luncheon.

Registration is $450 for TMC members and $550 for non-members before Jan. 22. After that date, the fees increase $100, respectively.
