LAS VEGAS.  A premium adjustable gas shock and an update for direct OE replacement shocks for heavy-duty trucks, trailers and buses have been introduced by Gabriel (Ride Control) at the 2016 Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week conference.

The adjustable GasSLX uses a gas cell design that physically separates the shock’s gas and high-temperature fluid, allowing it to adapt to payloads and conditions without fade or reduced damping, according to the company.

The updated FleetLine shocks are direct replacements and meet or exceed original OE standards, according to the company, which says they feature a pre-loaded piston ring to compensate for wear and valve ratings designed to compensate for truck suspension softening.

Both new heavy-duty shocks have an improved anti-corrosion coating and a new seal design that reduces misting, which Gabriel says should reduce maintenance downtime and extend service life.  The seal is said to reduce shock oil loss by 70% over time, and the anti-corrosion coatings on shock mounting surfaces to make shock removal easier.
