Visiting Virginia's Memorial for Fallen Highway Workers

April 8, 2014

Built in 2004, Virginia's memorial to its fallen highway workers stands flanked by two flagstaffs at milepost 102 heading east on I-64 two-thirds of the way down Afton Mountain. It honors the 132 Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) highway workers who lost their lives on the job between 1928 and 2012. All photos courtesy of VDOT.
