The Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA), in cooperation with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), has launched a new resource on its web site” “Safeguarding America's Transportation System — Security Guide for Truck Rental Company Employees.”

DHS and TRALA have prepared this guide for truck renting and leasing companies and are providing it to them as part of a cooperative effort to improve transportation security. To view the guide, click on www.trala.org and follow the link.

This new guide is available to assist employees of truck rental companies in defining and identifying potential security threats. It was created to augment member companies' current policies and procedures and to provide a consolidated list of key security concerns. It also includes pertinent contact information at the DHS and the Transportation Security Administration for reporting potential security threats.

DHS plans to distribute printed copies of the Security Guide to truck renting and leasing industry companies.
