Marc Smith, chief executive officer of Stop & Shop/Giant-Landover (MD) plans to retire. The Dutch-based parent company Royal Ahold said Smith would remain until a successor is found, and Anders Moberg, president and CEO of Ahold, will “take a direct role in managing the transition process.” The company is searching for a successor.
