PeopleNet has launched a new capability that enables transportation companies to allow shippers to view fleet location information in real-time via the Internet.

The Shipper View capability allows users to view fleet location and route information by logging on to PeopleNet's fleet manager interface.

Carriers assign their shippers — or anyone else in the supply chain — a password to access this secure interface via the Internet. PeopleNet customers then share their map of fleet information, which can include location, proximity to a pre-defined landmark, and arrival/departure message notification from a pick-up or dropoff site.
