Lemont, Ill.-based Mark-it Express recently implemented a “well-deserved” pay increase for all Illinois company drivers.

Mark-it is an intermodal trucking and freight brokerage company that specializes in refrigerated transport and food distribution.

While the COVID-19 pandemic raged, truck drivers nationwide met the country’s needs with determination and flexibility, supplying stores and services day in and day out, the company said. So Mark-it company drivers are being rewarded for outstanding performance and customer satisfaction.

In appreciation of their loyalty and commitment, and the value the team brings to the marketplace, the following pay schedule will be in place for Mark-it Express company drivers in Illinois:

  • $27 an hour for drivers without the Hazardous Materials endorsement
  • $30 an hour for drivers with the Hazardous Materials endorsement
  • In addition to the already benefits package of Insurance and 401k w/ match
“We have been saying over and over that we appreciate our drivers and see how hard you are working,” said Tony Apa, Mark-it president. “Thank you all again—we wouldn’t be here without you.”

Company drivers at terminals in Detroit and Kansas City also will see wage increases in recognition of their dedication and hard work during difficult times, Mark-it said.

Mark-It Express, founded in 2009, offers a full array of third-party logistics and intermodal solutions, including local and regional drayage and yard services. The company operates three terminals in Lemont, Detroit, Mich., and Kansas City, Kan.
