KPN and Dyzle BV have partnered to offer an integrated platform for monitoring, tracking, and providing real-time data analytics and visualization for the food and pharmaceutical industries.
This collaboration is part of KPN’s innovation drive, helping customers in the food and pharmaceutical sectors improve their core business activity and efficiency and comply with health regulations. Dyzle’s platform is a cloud-based system that collects data such as temperature, humidity, energy consumption, and CO2; analyzes that data; and makes it visible on a personal dashboard accessible securely over the web from any Internet-enabled device.
The main purpose of delivering this data is to help provide undisputable evidence and proof of product quality for temperature-sensitive products.
KPN and Dyzle’s partnership serves a market need for what one analyst firm calls “one-stop shop application enablement platforms.” According to ABI Research, these platforms ease data extraction and normalization activities so machine-to-machine (M2M) applications and enterprise systems can easily consume machine data. The firm says application enablement platforms will be a “critical and necessary” enabler in the use of M2M in small, medium, and larger businesses. It says adding value-added service capabilities is almost a necessity to avoid commoditization pressures and capture revenues in the largest segment of the M2M value chain.
The Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) cold chain technology system from Dyzle provides interpretation and analysis of measured variables such as temperature, humidity, energy consumption, and CO2. The open independent platform can integrate and use data collected from any source, whether from proprietary systems or legacy technologies. Through the entire supply chain—from storage to transport and distribution—Dyzle collects data, analyzes it, and makes it visible via a one-click personal dashboard accessible securely over the web from any Internet-enabled device. This enables full visibility of the total cold chain.
