Tag-N-Trac unveils AI-powered monitoring to improve cold chain transport efficiency and product safety
Key takeaways
- Tag-N-Trac monitoring cut pharma shipment intercept rates from 1.93% to 0.3% while tracking temperature and location.
- Real-time alerts and analytics enabled a shift from full air to combined road and air shipments, reducing costs.
- Continuous monitoring over weeks ensured temperature control for refrigerated shipments, improving compliance and visibility.
Tag-N-Trac recently announced the implementation of its tracking technology with a pharmaceutical and biotechnology company. The company, which provides IoT-enabled logistics intelligence, partnered with Cold Chain Technologies to enhance refrigerated shipping operations and reduce costs.
The partnership addressed the challenge of ensuring the integrity of temperature-sensitive products during last-mile shipments. Tag-N-Trac provided continuous monitoring for up to five weeks inside temperature-controlled containers, delivering real-time data and alerts that protected medications.
By supplying analytics to Cold Chain Technologies’ logistics team, the solution supported a shift from air shipments to a more efficient combination of road and air transport. This optimization generated millions in annual savings, reduced the intercept rate for pharma shipments from 1.93% to 0.3%, and strengthened compliance with FDA requirements.
“Tag-N-Trac’s cutting-edge technologies are designed to help pharmaceutical companies optimize transport modes, while simultaneously enhancing compliance, safety, and cost efficiency in the most demanding supply chains,” said Venu Gutlapalli, co-founder and chief digital officer of Tag-N-Trac. “By partnering with leaders like Cold Chain Technologies, we are setting a new benchmark for pharmaceutical logistics globally.”
