Opex and Peltier partner to offer multi-temperature cold storage solution for automated fulfillment

Opex recently partnered with Peltier to provide a multi-temperature, multi-deep cold storage solution for automated fulfillment systems. The company, which designs warehouse, document, and mail automation systems, combines its Perfect Pick and Infinity ASRS platforms with Peltier’s actively cooled, AI-enabled totes. This solution lets customers in grocery, pharmaceutical, and life sciences markets store and retrieve chilled and frozen products without relying on traditional freezer rooms or specialized infrastructure.

The Peltier Tote offers precise, individually controlled temperature setpoints and IoT connectivity for real-time monitoring. Opex iBOT robotic vehicles power and transport the totes while keeping products cold, supporting cold chain integrity. The system reduces costs, optimizes space, and improves worker comfort by limiting exposure to harsh freezer environments. Physical AI manages energy use and provides detailed reporting for sensitive products. Any refrigeration issues are contained to individual totes, reducing risk and waste, and the totes use environmentally friendly solid-state cooling technology.
