Ember LifeSciences recently appointed Ann Hyllengren as chief financial officer to support the company’s next phase of growth. The company provides refrigerated shipping solutions for life sciences and develops technology to protect temperature-sensitive products.
The company, which recently completed a $16.5 million Series A financing in December, will leverage Hyllengren’s nearly two decades of experience at Amgen in global accounting, finance, capital planning, and investor relations. At Amgen, she held senior finance leadership roles, including head of finance for the U.S. General Medicine business unit and CFO of the Amgen Foundation.
The global pharmaceutical cold chain faces $35 billion in annual financial loss due to temperature excursions. Ember addresses this challenge with its Ember Cube, a digital shipping box featuring cloud-based temperature reporting, GPS location tracking, and sustainable return-to-sender technology to help fleets and shippers maintain integrity in refrigerated transport.
