Knight tallies 3Q, YTD financial results

Knight Transportation Inc has announced financial results for the third quarter and year-to-date ended Sept 30, 2007.

For the quarter, the Phoenix AZ-based truckload carrier's total revenue increased 3.2% to $180.3 million from $174.7 million for the same quarter of 2006. Net income decreased to $14.5 million from $18.9 million for the same period of 2006.

Year-to-date, total revenue rose 7.7% to $527.0 million from $489.5 million for the same period of 2006. Net income fell to $49.3 million from $52.8 million for the same period of 2006.

Knight previously announced a cash dividend of $.03 per share to shareholders of record Sept 7, 2007, which was paid Sept 28, 2007.
