Global logistics service provider Martin-Brower Company LLC has signed a letter of intent with Marfrig Alimentos SA to acquire the Keystone Foods distribution and logistics businesses in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.

This transaction includes operations in the United States, England, France, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Malaysia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Qatar. It is expected to close before the end of 2011.

“We look forward to welcoming Keystone Foods’ global network of dedicated employees to Martin-Brower and utilizing our standardized practices and continuous improvement methods to ensure accurate assured supply to McDonald’s throughout the transition,” said Greg Nickele, chief executive officer of Martin-Brower.

With distribution as its core competency, Martin-Brower has served McDonald’s fast-food restaurants since 1956. The company is McDonald’s largest distributor in the United States, Canada, Ireland, and Latin America.

Integrating Keystone Foods’ distribution business—including its five distribution centers in the United States, 10 distribution centers in Europe, nine distribution centers across Asia Pacific, and four centers in the Middle East—ensures consistent service and brand stewardship for McDonald’s global operations.

Martin-Brower is a division of Reyes Holdings LLC, which distributes food, beverage, and foodservice products throughout North, Central, and South America. The company also operates a leading US beer distribution business and owns Reinhart FoodService LLC, a US-based broadline foodservice distributor.
