SmartWay provides finance clearinghouse

The United States Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay Transport Partnership has launched its new web-based finance clearinghouse. Here, buyers of clean trucks and other emissions and fuel-saving technologies can submit one application and have easier access to multiple financial institutions offering reduced-interest loans with flexible terms.

SmartWay has consolidated more than 300 private lenders into one network. The application is free, simple, and fast. Once it is submitted, interested lenders send their offers.

SmartWay is a voluntary partnership between government and industry for improving fuel efficiency and reducing environmental impacts from freight transport.
