The American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI) will conduct a regulatory webinar entitled “Building Consumer Trust Throughout the Supply Chain” at 2 pm Eastern on Thursday, July 16, 2015. This event will be facilitated by the AFFI’s Dr Donna Garren, and Charlie Arnot from The Center for Food Integrity will be the presenter.

As consumers become more interested in the source, safety, and quality of their food, it is crucial that they are properly informed about our nation’s food supply. Pervasive social media and web-based resources communicate both factual and falsified food issues at alarming rates. Recalls, scientific findings, and changing farming methods are just a few examples that bring a flurry of discussion. During this webinar, Arnot will be addressing food issues of greatest concern to consumers and how industry can better foster consumer trust from farm to table. The speaker will share strategies to communicate positive and accurate information, correct misinformation, and encourage stakeholders to address today’s critical issues. A strengthening in the relationship among consumers, the food industry, and government officials is necessary for ensuring the continuation of a successful food system.
