Kerry Group recently announced it will open its first Pennsylvania manufacturing plant in Hanover Township, Northampton County. The company, which produces coffee roasting and extraction products for the global food and beverage market, aims to expand production capabilities while supporting refrigerated logistics for temperature-sensitive ingredients.

The multimillion-dollar facility will support all-natural coffee ingredients and accommodate refrigerated transportation needs, ensuring safe delivery across multiple markets. Kerry is leasing a building that previously housed Martin Bauer Group, another beverage company, and plans to retain 16 employees from that business.

The project is backed by $516,880 in state funding, a $316,880 Pennsylvania First grant, and a $200,000 WEDnetPA grant for workforce training. The company was also encouraged to pursue the Manufacturing Tax Credit Program for additional tax benefits.

“With this acquisition, Kerry is enhancing production capabilities and leveraging advanced technologies to meet the rising demand for all-natural coffee ingredients across multiple markets, ultimately driving business growth and innovation,” John Cahalane, president and CEO of Kerry North America, said.

“We are especially proud to partner with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, whose support has been instrumental in making this expansion possible," Cahalane continued. "This collaboration reinforces our belief that Bethlehem is the right place to grow our coffee business and deepen our commitment to sustainable nutrition and local community development.”
