Keizer Refrigeration, a distributor for Carrier Transicold; and Mid-States Utility Trailer Sales, a dealership of Utility Trailer Manufacturing Co, have opened a new Sioux City IA facility.

Located at 5220 Harbor Drive, Exit 141 off Interstate 29, the new dealership building is eight miles south of its previous location in the 3200 block of US Highway 75. As part of its relocation and expansion, the company has added seven new employees to its current staff of 50 and continues hiring service technicians for both Mid-States Utility Trailer Sales and Keizer Refrigeration.

“We are excited to grow in Sioux City,” said Shane Keizer, president of Keizer Companies. “We are happy to be along the Interstate and get more exposure. Our previous facility was very limited on space and did not allow any room for growth, so we decided to build a new place, in a better location that will offer a much better experience for our customers.”

This new 55,000-square-foot facility includes a two-floor office area for trailer sales, showroom for truckers to purchase truck and trailer parts, drivers’ waiting room and a service center with 16 service bays and a new drive-through wash station. The service department is running a day shift, with the addition of extended hours into the evening in the near future. A fleet of five fully equipped service trucks is ready to provide emergency road service and on-site repair.

The lot can accommodate 300 trailers and showcases new and used Utility 3000R reefers, 4000D-X Composite dry vans, 4000AE Combo flatbeds as well as Maurer, East and Landoll trailers. This project has doubled the company’s service and parts area, and the location’s proximity to the new Bridgeport West Industrial Park is expected to add new business.
