LOUISVILLE. Freightliner Trucks announced at the Mid-America Trucking Show that the Lectronix T7000 “Infotainment system” is now available as a pre-wire option on its Cascadia Class 8 model. Designed specifically for use in trucks, the T7000 combines truck navigation, voice, video and entertainment into one system, noted the OEM.

The T7000 supports a full range of entertainment and connectivity features, including fully integrated truck navigation, enhanced audio including AM/FM/Weather radio, CD player, iPod charging and control, MP3/WMA playback via memory stick, hands-free Bluetooth, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, blind spot cameras activated by turn signals and satellite radio, said Freightliner.

Many navigation features are also included with the T7000, such as bridge height, maximum weight and HazMat alerts. The system, which has a J1939 data bus connection, also tracks fuel consumption and maintenance intervals, and features customizable alarms. The OEM noted that the Lectronix T7000 can be easily installed in the Cascadia dashboard space used for existing radios.

"The Cascadia was built with the driver in mind-- and the result is one of the most comfortable and spacious cabs on the road today," said Melissa Clausen, director of product marketing for Freightliner Trucks. "The addition of the T7000 only adds to the overall driver experience."
