Innovative Computing Corp. (ICC), one of the pioneering developers of fleet management software, has been acquired by TMW Systems, provider of enterprise transportation software for fleets, shippers and 3PLs. The acquisition, which includes ICC’s offices in Brentwood, TN, and Oklahoma City, adds approximately 300 transportation customers to TMW’s user base, which had stood at about 1500 customers, according to the company.
Founded in 1969 by Ernie Betancourt, ICC provides truckload carriers with both hosted software for the IBM AS/400 platform and software-as-a-service (SaaS). In recent years, it has expanded its offerings to include SaaS geared specifically to smaller TL carriers.
Also a long-term developer of management applications to for-hire fleets, TMW has in recent years expanded its offering through the acquisition of TMT Fleet Maintenance software and IDSC optimization applications, both of which are already used by many ICC customers. “We will continue to sell, support and develop the ICC product line to protect our customers’ technology and platform investments,” said David Wangler, president & CEO of TMW.
ICC’s development expertise for the AS/400 will also help support R&D for TMW’s current products on that platform, according to the company.
“Many Innovative customers have already found TMW Systems to be a strong industry technology partner where they have added TMW point solutions to their Innovative enterprise software,” said Betancourt in a press release announcing the sale. “Our customers now have the opportunity to see their technology investment grow in value with TMW support and industry leadership.”
