A new web-based M2M (machine to machine) service promises real-time visibility into fleet operations

A new web-based M2M (machine to machine) service promises real-time visibility into fleet operations, allowing managers to locate, track, monitor and even control inventory and assets.

Pedigree Technolgies’ OneView aggregates information from multiple sources and is available in vertical applications, including OneView for Fleet and Field Services. The service replaces onsite manual monitoring with remote services, such as notification when a refrigeration unit may need service.

In addition, the company said it helps in identifying potential problems before they become major repairs; allows companies to purchase just one system rather than separate systems for each type of asset they own; Pedigree Technologies staff provides IT help, and businesses only pay for the services they want with the ability to add features a la carte.

"We have the perfect storm to create this solution," said Alex Warner, Pedigree founder. "The combination of lower wireless and cellular communication costs, cheap sensor hardware and centralized web software allowed us to create a machine-to-machine system that previously only major corporations and government and military customers could afford."
