A new imaging camera and recorder from Snap-on promises to cut service time by allowing technicians to diagnose problems in hard-to-see areas quicker and without disassembly, Snap-on said.

The Digital Image Capturing Borescope (BK6000) is useful when inspecting cylinder bores and valves through the spark plug hole, gear wear in differentials and manual transmissions, viewing inside door and body panels, checking under the dash for electrical routing, HVAC actuator operation and radio code verification or locating fluid leaks when there is no direct line of sight, according to Snap-on.

The tool records and plays back still images as well as video clips It includes a 3.5-in. viewing screen, has quick-change connectors to lengthen the tool as needed or to add specialized purpose imagers, a removable and rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack, an integrated stand and hanger for flexible positioning, zoom control and the ability to record comments, among other functions.
