• Volvo Trucks receives telematics award for Remote Diagnostics

    June 21, 2013

A panel of industry judges has awarded Volvo Trucks’ Remote Diagnostics program as Best Telematics Service or Solution for Commercial Vehicles at the 10th annual Telematics Update Awards in Detroit.

Remote Diagnostics, offered as a standard service on all Volvo-powered Volvo Trucks in North America, is a proactive diagnostic and repair planning service. Volvo has delivered over 12,000 trucks equipped with the program.

“It’s a tremendous honor to receive the premier telematics award for commercial vehicles,” said Conal Deedy, Volvo Trucks product manager, communications and electronics. “This award is a testament to Volvo’s commitment to helping improve the way motor carriers address vehicle service needs. It also validates what we have been hearing from our customers – that Remote Diagnostics provides a valuable, user-friendly service that helps maximize vehicle uptime.”

Remote Diagnostics monitors critical fault codes and delivers detailed information about the severity of the issue in real-time to the customer, Volvo said.

According to the company, Remote Diagnostics reduces the average diagnostic time at a service location by 71% and lowers the average time of repair by 25%.
