T. Boone Pickens, chairman & CEO of BP Capital as well as founder of Pickens Fuel, the predecessor company to Clean Energy Fuels, will deliver the keynote address at the American Trucking Assns. (ATA) Natural Gas in Trucking Summit in November.
The Summit, to be held Nov. 28-30 in Arlington, VA, will explore all facets of natural gas use in trucking including recent fleet experiences, current and future technology from truck and engine manufacturers, vehicle maintenance and repair shop considerations, the status and timeline for expanding the nation’s fueling infrastructure and views from Congress and other government policymakers.
“We are thrilled to have Mr. Pickens share his views on natural gas at the Summit. He is a true pioneer in the energy field,” said Bill Graves, president & CEO of ATA. “With his Pickens Plan, he has not just shaped the conversation about using natural gas in this country, he has changed the discussion almost single-handedly.”
Pickens’ remarks will be made during a session titled “The Transformation of America's Energy Future.”
ATA also announced that Clean Energy, Freightliner Trucks and TravelCenters of America have signed on as major sponsors of the event.
“This Summit would not be possible without the ardent support of our allied members and the supplier community,” Graves said. “These three companies have shown great commitment not just to developing natural gas, but to our entire industry for many, many years.”
Registration for the ATA Summit on Natural Gas in Trucking is now open for ATA members, and general registration will begin Aug. 1. For more information about the Summit, including possible sponsorship opportunities, please call the Summit hotline at (703) 838-1935 or email at [email protected].
