The 2025 FleetOwner 500: Private list ranks the most prominent private carriers in the U.S. by total registered power units. Released in April, the FO500 saw many ranking shifts after a busy 2024 of carrier acquisitions, mergers, consolidations, and expansions.

In addition to ranking the largest private fleet operations overall, FleetOwner breaks down these companies into categories based on equipment, cargo types, and industry segments. This media gallery focuses on business or home services fleets.

Two new categories were added to this year's private lists: landscaping/tree care and equipment rental. A number of private fleets have been recategorized as a result of the introduction of these new categories. Among the top 10 fleets on this list are Vestis and American Automobile Association, both new to the FleetOwner 500: Private.
