Utility companies power our country, and their fleets are the ones keeping everything connected and working. This year’s top private utility fleet list held steady at the top with AT&T and Verizon. The rest of the list saw major up-and-down shifts, with a new entry at No. 10: Berkshire Hathaway Energy. 

The 2026 FleetOwner 500: Private list ranks the most prominent private carriers in the U.S. by total registered power units. FleetOwner breaks these fleets down into categories, either by equipment or by the fleet's main cargo type or segment. This media gallery will focus on private utility fleets.
