Stellantis gains momentum in North America

The company's renewed focus on full life cycle support and innovative fleet programs has resulted in increased market share, sales growth, and a promising outlook for Stellantis' commercial vehicle segment in North America.

Key takeaways

  • Stellantis Pro One aims to deliver comprehensive tools and services supporting fleet customers throughout the vehicle life cycle, including over-the-air updates and AI interactions.
  • In 2026, Stellantis increased its North American market share to 14.1%, with a 13% overall vehicle sales growth driven mainly by Ram and Peugeot in Mexico.
  • Ram's sales surged in the U.S. and Canada, with a 15% increase in total sales and a 27% rise in Ram 1500 pickups, highlighting the brand's strong market position.
  • Stellantis leads in Mexico's commercial vehicle market with an 18.8% share, and Ram's sales there increased by 43%, reflecting the success of the Pro One strategy.

FleetOwner has given Stellantis and its Pro One business division quite a bit of coverage over the last year. That’s because the division is under relatively new leadership—the leader of the brand’s U.S. fleet sales division, Michael Ferreira, has been in the position for just over a year—and it’s undergoing a revolution.

What does this mean for Stellantis moving forward?

After years of instability in Stellantis’ commercial sales leadership and direction, Ferreira’s objective to bring Stellantis Pro One’s global success to the North American market is showing promise.

“We remain encouraged by the response of our customers and the increased interest across government, small business, commercial fleet, and beyond,” Ferreira said.

But whether Ferreira can meet all his goals, which he described as “marrying” all Stellantis commercial fleet solutions under one roof, to entice commercial customers, maybe the brand’s product offering will be enough.

Ram brand has launched or refreshed several vehicles in its lineup, and the brand recently decided to bring back the Ram ProMaster City—a vehicle in a segment that all OEMs have abandoned in the U.S. market.
