The White House has released a letter recognizing the role truck drivers play in national security and the economy in commemoration of National Driver Appreciation Week.
“My Administration is working to link truck drivers and other transportation professionals with first responders, law enforcement personnel, and the intelligence community so that safety and security situations on our nation’s roads can be identified and reported more quickly,” stated President George W. Bush in the letter.
“I applaud America’s truck drivers for your strong work ethic and professionalism. Your efforts increase efficiency within the industry and help make America stronger,” he added.
