Peterbilt Motors Co. announced that it received the highest customer satisfaction ratings in the over-the-road, vocational and dealer service segments of J.D. Power and Associates' first heavy-duty truck study.

In the same survey, Kenworth Truck Co. received the top ranking for the pickup and delivery segment.

The J.D. Power and Associates 2003 Heavy-Duty Truck Customer Satisfaction Study was based on interviews with over 2,600 fleets and owner-operators using Class 8 vehicles.

The study ranks customers' attitudes concerning their service experiences with OEM dealers, as well as product characteristics such as vehicle, engine and transmission quality; ride, handling and braking; and vehicle interior and exterior.
