Fleet Owner magazine is hosting an online logistics/supply chain chat session November 26 that will focus on trucking in the months ahead. Wendy Leavitt, Fleet Owner’sdirector of editorial & market development, will moderate the chat, which will feature Martin Labbe, president of Martin Labbe Associates and one of the trucking industry's most respected analysts.

"From the economy's impact on current trucking trends to regulatory impact, the trucking industry is facing rather unique circumstances,” Labbe told Fleet Owner. “Survival appears to be uppermost on everyone's mind at the moment, yet we have pressing problems to address as we come out of this downturn.”

Some of the issues Labbe will address include:

  • When will the recovery commence and why? Which will be the key industries affected?
  • How will the infrastructure be impacted by trucking and will it bring adverse reaction from the public sector?
  • Will rail ever become a partner in the transportation of goods in a way that positively affects trucking?
  • If we did away with warranty, would there be a net benefit to the industry?
The chat session will begin at 10:30 a.m. EST
