Eden Outsource of Irvine, CA, a provider of turnkey assembly, packaging, distribution and supply chain management services, has formed an alliance with Liberty Logistics of Ontario, CA. The newly formed relationship is aimed at creating a third-party manufacturing and logistics provider with broad service reach, the companies said.

Eden said it provides Liberty with assembly, packaging and display expertise. In turn, Liberty enables Eden with mass retail distribution via its 180,000 square foot warehouse and fully integrated supply chain system.

The goal of the alliance is to tap more fully into the contract manufacturing service industry – a market that is expected to double in size from $103 billion last year to $231 billion in 2005. By forming an alliance – a deal in the works for the past year – both companies said they have gained broader access to retail channels to stores as K-Mart, Sears, Lowes, Wal-Mart and Target.
