Tracking units for trailers and powered construction equipment have been introduced by Teletrac. Both units provide national coverage over the Numerex Cellemetry wireless network.

Instead of sending scheduled location reports, which can drain battery power, the units can be programmed to only send alerts if they are moved, stopped for pre-determined period, or leave a set “geofenced” area. Rreal-time location updates can be viewed on a computer with Internet service or sent to portable phones and other wireless devices. Units can be disarmed to only record and store movement data.

Trailer system has its own battery and a self-contained solar panel recharging system. The asset-tracking unit is designed for construction and other equipment with their own battery power systems and comes with a self-contained backup battery. www.teletrac.net or 263.
