Michelin Americas Truck Tires has announced it will sponsor the American Trucking Associations’ (ATA) Share the Road campaign in 2006.

Michelin points out that Share the Road is a highway safety program designed to educate all motorists about how trucks and cars can safely share the road. It delivers specific, life-saving information that can immediately reduce the likelihood of having a traffic accident with a truck or other vehicle. Share the Road uses professional truck drivers and highway safety partnerships to conduct safety demonstrations for local media in hundreds of U.S. cities. Cars and trucks are set up in simulated highway lanes that show the common ways in which accidents happen on the road.

“Michelin’s main objective is one of improved mobility,” said Michelin Americas Truck Tires COO Luc Minguet. “Improving mobility involves improvement in technology, efficiency and performance as well as improvement in safety. As a major participant in the truck tire market and leader in innovation, Michelin remains committed to all these aspects of mobility and is proud to be a part of ATA’s Share the Road initiative.”
