The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) remains on the lookout for a stolen gasoline tanker capable of carrying 9,200 gallons of fuel that went missing in Pennsauken, NJ, in late April. See Missing Fuel Tanker Trips Security Warning

“DHS considers this a bona fide concern,” Don L. Rondeau, Highway Watch ISAC director told Fleet Owner. “It’s not unusual that there’s a stolen truck but in general, in a situation where someone steals for profit, the truck eventually turns up. But when something is missing for four months in an area where the security is relatively strong…it is a concern,” Rondeau said.

The tanker was reportedly empty when it was stolen, and was equipped with new aluminum wheels and Michelin tires.

The vehicle is described to be a four-compartment tank trailer with “TK Transport Inc.” embroidered in green on its left and right. It is a recently refurbished model 1996 model T-118 four-compartment Fruehauf tanker with a New Jersey license plate number T852SC, and serial number 1H4T04320GK014902. The trailer has two hose tubes on both sides of the tank. There is a safety control box on the right near a red landing gear.

The tanker may be renumbered, retagged and repainted at this point.
