By integrating Blue Wireless’s voice portal technology into the platform, @Road expects to offer its customers voice-based access to LocationSmart mobile resource management applications, such as FleetASAPSM, from any wired or wireless phone.
"Through the collaboration, we can expand the functionality of its MRM services and applications by offering businesses and their mobile workers the ability to execute simple voice commands from a phone to access location-enhanced, mission-critical business applications," said Krish Panu, @Road president and CEO.
The first voice-enabled services expected to be offered by @Road include:
- Voice-enabled vehicle location, which is expected to allow customers to access vehicle location information and receive reports on location, speed and stops, using voice commands over any telephone.
- A voice-messaging interface, which is expected to 1) enable drivers to access customer location information while en route; 2) enable voice-to-text and text-to-voice messaging between the office and employees in the field; and 3) provide for easy broadcast of voice messages to mobile employees.
- A voice-alert system, which can alert consumers to the ETA of their deliveries.
- Voice-activated navigation and mobile Yellow Pages.
