In a $1.4-million deal, Teletouch Communications Inc. has added trunked radio service in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, greatly expanding it's wireless voice services in Texas. The company, which provides tracking and other telemetry services in the South and Southeast, has purchased the Dallas-area SMR and LTR radio licenses of Delta Communications, as well as the company's LTR infrastructure, customer base and inventory.

Delta has approximately 3,000 radios operating on its LTR network, making it the largest trunked radio operation in the Dallas area. The acquisition will give Teletouch LTR voice and data service from the Louisiana border to west of Ft. Worth and south to just above Houston, according to the company.
