The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) said it has fined four for-hire carriers that primarily haul household goods in New York, New Jersey and Illinois for a variety of violations.

All Points USA Relocation Systems and AAA United States Moving Systems, both from Brooklyn, NY, plus Gibraltar Van Lines of Montclair, NJ and EZ Movers of Skokie, IL have been assessed civil penalties of $14,500, $24,000, $5,000 and $12,500, respectively. Those fines relate mostly to pricing, tariff, damage claims, and billing violations of FMCSA regulations.

FMCSA said the fines resulted from consumer complaints against the four carriers. The agency added that all four carriers have the opportunity to contest the violations and the amount of the penalties.
