• Goodyear names commercial tire gm

    The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has named Daniel E. Martin general manager, commercial tire sales – west. He reports to Ted J. Fick, vp commercial tire systems. The appointment is part of Goodyear’s strategy to provide dedicated leadership to focus on the commercial truck and bus industry. “Dan brings fresh insights to our team, thanks to his strong background in the truck industry,” said Fick.

    The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has named Daniel E. Martin general manager, commercial tire sales – west. He reports to Ted J. Fick, vp commercial tire systems.

    The appointment is part of Goodyear’s strategy to provide dedicated leadership to focus on the commercial truck and bus industry.

    “Dan brings fresh insights to our team, thanks to his strong background in the truck industry,” said Fick. “He has experience calling on many of these same accounts, and has excellent relationships throughout the industry."

    Martin is responsible for dealer sales, development and fleet sales, and oversees the five commercial sales region managers in the company’s western division.

    Martin has 23 years of truck industry experience at Paccar, where he held numerous positions including distribution center manager and national sales manager for the parts division, and director of U.S. sales for the Kenworth Truck Co.

    On-highway diesel pump prices sat at $3.775 per gallon, up from June 16’s $3.571 average. While it didn’t see the same price hike, average U.S. gasoline prices also increased by more than 7 cents this week, according to EIA, which tracked the fuel at $3.213.
