Thermo King wins innovation award

The IDEA award, which is sponsored by the Industrial Designers Society of America and Business Week magazine, recognizes product designs that showcase an ability to match consumer needs with appropriate technology.

"This award is a tremendous honor and a step in a new direction for Thermo King," said Randal Gast, Thermo King's vp, marketing and product management. "The fact that a transport refrigeration product can compete alongside products by companies such as Apple Computer, Motorola and DaimlerChrysler is truly a testament to the creativity and foresight of our design and engineering team."

A select group of winners will be published in the June 25, 2001, issue of Business Week. Winners will also be recognized at the IDEA2001 award presentation ceremony in Boston on August 18.
